About The Role

 
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Safeguarding and Support Team as a Social Worker, either experienced or as a NQSW.  In this role, you’ll be primarily working to improve children and young people’s outcomes and ensure they are safeguarded.
 
To fulfil the duties and responsibilities of a qualified Social Work post in Hounslow’s Children’s Specialist Services, in your team you will be working closely with children and their families.  You will manage a caseload where children or young people are in Need and subject to Child Protection Plans, LAC and subject to care proceedings.  Your role will be to deliver relevant interventions in order to safeguard children and ensure their needs are met whilst also aiming to effect long-term positive change to improve the life experiences of vulnerable children and young people.  
 
Within this role you will work to maintain high standards of professional practice, working at all times in the best interests of children and young people, ensuring that there are clear evidence-based assessments and care plans in place on all allocated cases.
 
We welcome both experienced Social Workers and newly qualified Social Workers to apply. Hounslow has a long history of running it’s ASYE programme and in supporting Social Workers in their career development into becoming Practice Educators, Advanced Practitioners and managers.
 

About The Team You’ll Be Working In

 
Safeguarding and Support is part of Hounslow’s Children’s Specialist Services. The team works with other teams within the service and our multi-agency partners to safeguard children and young people and to improve their outcomes. 
 
The team is composed nine Social Workers, two Advanced Social Workers, two Assistant Team Managers and a Team Manager and in addition business support. As a Social Worker, you will report to an Assistant team Manager who will offer experience, guidance, support and regular and reflective supervision.

Your primary focus will be safeguarding vulnerable children and young people in the London Borough of Hounslow. 
 
Working in partnership with multiple agencies you will manage a caseload which will include CIN, CP, LAC cases and some Court work. 
 
Substantial experience working with children, young people and their families.
 
Relationship building and direct work skills.
 
An enthusiasm and passion for the safeguarding of children and young people.
 
Ability to deliver high quality assessment, care plans and reports and first-class communication and organisation skills.
 

Professional Qualification:

 
1.A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/Diploma) is essential.
 
2.Registered with Social Work England.
 
3.Enhanced DBS check required.
