Salary: Grade M -£56,868 £60,105 plus retention allowance of £5,020

The Group Manager at the Eva Armsby Family Centre will be responsible for managing the team Managers and staff. You will be joining the Service at an exciting time as we continue to strengthen our practice and expand our ambitions. We remain ambitious to continue to build on the progress of the 2019 Ofsted Inspection and this post will be crucial to how this momentum is maintained and support our journey in getting from Good to Outstanding.

The Eva Armsby Family Centre opened in 1994 and provides a range of child-focused services to children and their families across Tower Hamlets. We are looking for an experienced Group Manager to oversee the Contact Team, the Positive Change Service and the Family Assessment Team. The fundamental objective of the service is to promote the well-being of children and families, ensuring that the Eva Armsby Family Centre is of a consistently high standard and meets the needs of Tower Hamlets’ diverse communities and that the quality and standards of professional practice and performance are met. The service works collaboratively with children, young people, families, carers and professionals to provide a safe, welcoming environment for family assessment, intervention and contact services.

About you

As a Group Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the principles and objectives of the service are delivered operationally and you will contribute to the senior management strategic vision for the Eva Armsby Family Centre, and the wider Children’s Social Care vision.

The successful candidates will need to have substantial post qualifying management experience, experience of providing social work supervision and support and demonstrate a sound understanding of the legal frameworks, threshold decision making, volume management, budgetary management, quality assurance, working to safeguard children guidance, London child protection procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience of managing services

  • Working knowledge of the legislative framework within which Social Care operates, inclusive of regulation, national guidance and procedures specific to this post.

  • Thorough understanding of quality assurance an ability to integrate this understanding into practice

  • A nationally recognised or other social work England recognised social work qualification. A current SWE registration will be a condition of appointment EAFC Group Manager

  • A substantial amount of team management experience in the children and families’ field

  • Experience of working as a Practitioner and Manager within a multicultural environment which provides services to a variety of disadvantaged groups.

  •  A commitment to working transparently; in partnership with children, young people, families, and partner agencies
