About the role

This role is required to provide inspirational leadership and ongoing challenge to the Targeted Early Help Service in order to embed the ongoing improvements that the service has been under and ensure a professional high-quality service for families across the borough. The overall drive is to provide the highest quality services to children and families across Barking and Dagenham. The service is developing and implementing a more integrated model of practice, with greater co-location and integrated working, with our partner agencies, positioned across three-locality, Family Hubs, so families and children experienced a more joined up service offer, only having to tell their story once. The teams work with partner agencies and adopt ‘Team around the Family’ and lead professional approaches that are trauma-informed, relational, strengths based and utilise motivational interviewing, Safe and Together and Family Group Conferencing in its practices. This is an exciting time to be leading the service and being able to continue to define and deliver a new model of working and to develop evidence-based programmes which support families The service is developing and implementing a more integrated model of practice, with greater co-location and integrated working, with our partner agencies, positioned across three-locality, Best Chance Family Hubs and implementing start for life , so families and children experience a more joined up service offer, only having to tell their story once.  This is an exciting time to be leading a service and being able to undertake ongoing development and deliver a new model of working You will be leading with support of the current Senior Leadership Team and be accountable for a service of staff delivering high quality assessments of need and risk in line with the LBBD Multi-Agency Threshold of Need document to ensure that children and families receive the appropriate level of support in a timely manner, The teams work with partner agencies and adopt ‘Team around the Family’ and lead professional approaches that are Trauma-informed, relational, strengths based and utilise motivational interviewing, Safe and Together and Family Group Conferencing in its practices.    You will be collaborating with other Head of Service in Mash, Assessment and SEN as well as working with partners in schools , police, health and voluntary sector to provide exemplary leadership , management and direction to ensure the right support is available to the right families at the right time, ensuring families receive consistent, timely and high quality and impactful interventions from the Targeted Early Help service  alongside the opportunity to further develop key relationships and across the multi-agency partnership which will be crucial to this role   Workforce development is also key to this role as is the responsibility for leading and driving quality assurance and practice improvement across the early help workforce, ensuring the development and delivery of supporting workforce development strategies, and embedding our ongoing improvement and innovation journey.
