The focus of the teams is on early intervention, seeking to provide support to children, young people and their families who require additional help to achieve successful outcomes in school, but whose needs are not severe enough for them to meet the criteria for higher threshold services. Providing support at an early stage will enable needs to be addressed and ensure that the numbers needing higher level services will reduce over time. We have recently been awarded 5 years of DfEWe have a vacancy for a fulltime fixed term position ending in August 2024.
The main purpose of the job is:-
· To provide early intervention support, advice and guidance to schools, parents and other professionals in terms of children who are experiencing social, emotional, or behaviour difficulties within school to prevent the need of high threshold services being provided.
· The post holder will have a role in advising and training schools and teaching staff in terms of behaviour strategies for groups of children.
· They will work directly with children and parents/carers as necessary, assessing their needs, and planning and delivering programmes of support and interventions to individuals and groups of children. This will be in order to re- establish effective engagement with education and improve attendance, progress and attainment.
· To contribute to the delivery of The Incredible years Programme to parents, carers of pupils in KS1.
