About the role

We are looking for talented and experienced Personal Advisors to join our growing 16+ Independence service in Lambeth!

Our new service is benefitting from investment as we work to meet the needs of children leaving care in our borough.  We have introduced multidisciplinary teams of Social Workers and Personal Advisors as well as increasing the number of teams in the service to ensure that every young person has the right support to make a successful transition to independence.

Across our social care service, we have adopted a systemic approach, “Children at the Heart of Practice”, to support our work with children, families and communities from the front door and early help right through to our 16+ independence provision.

Our approach is driven by a focus on relationships, enabling and supporting change for families openly and collaboratively, and promoting children’s development and wellbeing.

About you

We are looking for experienced practitioners who are committed to this approach and who possess the skills to help our Lambeth care leavers to thrive and flourish.

In this role, you will be responsible for building relationships with young people, their social worker and carers, and other relevant agencies to effectively work in partnership.  You will coordinate, monitor and review Pathway Plans for all allocated young people preparing to make the transition to adulthood and greater independence from public care in Lambeth.

You will promote young people’s physical, emotional and social welfare; promoting their capacity to take responsibility for themselves, ensuring that needs relating to religious persuasion, racial origin, gender and cultural background are actively identified and met.

You will possess a recognised qualification in an associated field and have experience of leading group work, working with parents and carers and working with other agencies to support young people.
