About the role

In this role you will:

- Work with young people who have been to court and given a post court order or gone into custody meeting the statutory requirements of the order, keeping up to date case notes and breaching when and if required.

- You will attend court on behalf of the Youth Justice team making recommendations and producing court reports of a high standard

- You will carry out holistic assessments on the child and family, creating an intervention plan to meet their needs 

-You will risk assess and work with the family and victims to ensure safer communities and reduce the risk of reoffending

-You will have a caseload of prevention cases for children who are on the periphery of criminalisation where you will work with them and their family to build a relationship and support the child with their needs 

About you

Social work qualification and at least one year's post qualifying experience in a social work
role and be able to meet the requirements of the social work regulator. With the exception
of Newly qualified Social Workers (ASYE).

Demonstrate an effective and active use of supervision for accountability,
professional reflection and development
Demonstrate an ability and understanding of the frameworks, theory and research
which are applicable to the practice setting.
Demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of the legal and policy
frameworks and guidance that inform social work practice and which safeguard
vulnerable service users. (Relating specifically to the area in which this post is placed).
Demonstrate an ability to clearly and effectively communicate with service users, families
and carers colleagues, and other professionals ensuring that individual’s views
opinions and wishes are explicitly recorded using a range of tools and techniques
applicable to the service sector
