We are currently looking for Team Managers to join DCYPS, our social work service for children with disabilities and their families. This role leads statutory work that can change the lives of children and families impacted by SEND and you will spend the majority of your time supporting your team of social workers on challenging but highly rewarding cases. Supervision is vital in this service as many of our children have very complex needs; but you and your team can be genuine advocates for children who otherwise do not have a voice, and the team can improve long-term quality of life for children and families.
Team Managers play a key role in our Circles of Support by ensuring that our social workers feel supported and that high quality practice is delivered to children and families. Team Managers are expected to show strong but compassionate leadership and create a secure team environment of open discussion/challenge whilst allowing systemic practice to flourish.
Team Managers in DCYPS lead teams of between 5-7 social workers, and may supervise newly qualified social workers or students.

You are a qualified social work manager registered with Social Work England, who has built statutory social work management experience including working in teams focusing on children and young people with disabilities. You have experience and an understanding of working within a diverse, urban community and share our ambition and energy in embracing new ways of working. You have a firm understanding of the SEND code of practice and the challenges faced by families living with disability, and would be confident leading a team of practitioners towards life changing outcomes for our residents.
