Children's Social Worker - Locality Team
Welcome and Retention Bonus:
£1000 paid in your first month salary and £1000 paid at the end of your 1st completed year in service
£2000 paid after your 2nd completed year in service
£3000 paid in your 3rd completed year in service and every completed year thereafter.
Whole package totals up to £47,857 (including Retention Bonus)
Social Workers within this service area are able to work flexibly between home and work to meet the needs of the service whilst recognising the benefits that a hybrid model of working can bring.
We are looking for confident and skilled Social Workers to work in our Locality Team. Our objective is to deliver the best outcomes for children and young people.
Reporting to the Team Manager, you will work within the frameworks of Section 17 and Section 47 - undertaking assessments, planning, and interventions with Children and their families. Your role will consist of completing direct work with children to keep them safe, ensuring their voice, wishes and views are central to the planning and delivery of work.
You will lead and coordinate multi-agency partnerships, plans, interventions, and meetings to ensure children and young people are safe and their holistic needs are being met. Within your team's geographical area you will support children and young people through robust assessment, SMART planning and effective intervention to achieve positive outcomes within their families and communities. Working within a restorative practice approach, you will work in partnership with families and multi-agency colleagues in intervening to address both the presenting concerns and underlying difficulties.
Compliance is key to our statutory requirements and as a Social worker you will deliver all aspects of work in accordance with safeguarding policy, procedure, and standards, ensuring that the children are at the heart of your decision making.
Social work qualification and at least one year's post qualifying experience in a social work role and be able to meet the requirements of the social work regulator. With the exception of Newly qualified Social Workers (ASYE).
2. Demonstrate an effective and active use of supervision for accountability, professional reflection and development
3. Demonstrate an ability and understanding of the frameworks, theory and research which are applicable to the practice setting.
4. Demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of the legal and policy frameworks and guidance that inform social work practice and which safeguard vulnerable service users. (Relating specifically to the area in which this post is placed).
5. Demonstrate an ability to clearly and effectively communicate with service users, families and carers colleagues, and other professionals ensuring that individual’s views opinions and wishes are explicitly recorded using a range of tools and techniques applicable to the service sector.
6. Have excellent organisational skills and be able to prioritise workload according to risk and need.
7. Demonstrate the ability to work as an autonomous professional and an ability to produce succinct and clear professional documentation which is of an excellent standard and in line with statutory and local timescales and local protocol.
8. Demonstrate skills in sharing information appropriately and respectfully and recognise lines of accountability and the boundaries of professional autonomy and discretion. 10. Be familiar with and demonstrate practice which meets the required level within social work frameworks.
