The Children's Rights & Participation Officer works with children and young people including those with SEND and those who receive universal and targeted support. A varied role including group work with children and young people, development and delivery of training, organisation of events and activities, all led by the views of the children and young people we work with.
This critical role within Hillingdon will require someone who is creative, has good organisational skills, is a strong advocate, has excellent interpersonal skills, can engage positively with children and young people both individually and in a group setting, is confident in contributing to meetings and can support children and young people to do the same.
The role will include supporting our children to attend meetings and political forums like the Corporate Parenting Panel or Safeguarding Partnership events and oversight of the Youth Council. You will be part of a team who are responsible for facilitating trainings, engagement in recruitment activities and the organisation and delivery of celebratory events like KICA.
We are looking for creative, innovative and child focussed worker to join the children's rights and participation team. We are looking for someone with experience of working with vulnerable children and young people and those with SEND who want to invest their energy into achieving better outcomes for our children and their families every day.
The role includes out of hours work, including one evening a week and would be considered on a fulltime or part time basis.
