Elevate Your Career with Our Team: Become a Professional Educator

Are you passionate about enhancing social work practice and supporting professional growth? Join our Workforce Development team within the Practice Improvement and Development Service as a part-time (3 days a week) Professional Educator. Our team of dedicated professionals works tirelessly to elevate practice standards and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Our Team and Approach

Our Workforce Development team consists of three full-time equivalent Professional Educators who collaborate closely with a Workforce Development Coordinator and a Social Work Apprenticeship Lead. Together, we work under the guidance of the Principal Social Worker and Service Leader, Workforce Development, maintaining strong connections with frontline teams. Regular informal conversations, team meetings, and one-to-one reflective sessions form the backbone of our approach, ensuring that every practitioner receives the support and guidance they need.

Professional Educators play a pivotal role in our service by offering specialist advice and development opportunities. They act as role models, embedding our values across the organisation, and working diligently to achieve excellence for every child. Our educators are seen as ‘floating experts,’ providing essential support not only to practitioners but also to International Social Workers, Practice Leaders, and Team Leaders.

About you

Royal Borough of Greenwich Children’s Social Care Service is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic member of staff to undertake the new role of Professional Educator focusing on quality assurance and improvement of our social work practice.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who can work alongside the Service Leader of Innovation, Improvement and Quality Assurance and our colleagues undertaking the work of our Practice Academy, will be responsible for the auditing and quality assurance of social work practice, provide flexible learning and development for practitioners, social workers, leaders and others, and will ensure the effectiveness of our services and share our focus on the lived experience of the child.

You will also be responsible for the line management of a Project Officer who will be supporting the development of this important work.

You will need to be a qualified social worker with considerable experience working with Children and Families and knowledge of systemic and compassionate practice and their application to work with children, young people and families.
