About the role

We have an exciting vacancy in our team for a senior social worker to support and develop the practice of newly qualified social workers on the ASYE Programme and also the Advanced Year participants. This role will be managed by the deputy team manager and ASYE lead in the social care training and development team. You will work closely with the Principal Social Worker to ensure social care practice within the ASYE cohorts and Advanced Year are consistent across Children’s Services.

About you

You will need to be a passionate practice leader for newly qualified social workers, responsible for modelling; best practice, mentoring, coaching, and supporting their development and growth. This will include embedding good practice and raising practice standards to improve the experience of these workers and help to retain them within the organisation.

We would like to hear from you if you:

  • Understand the training, development and practice needs of the newly qualified social workers and enabling their learning

  • Have a social work qualification and practice education award (minimum PEPS1 and willing to work towards PEPS2)

  • Have proven experience of supervising/supporting staff

  • Can demonstrate your ability to facilitate training.
