About the role

London Borough of Harrow are currently recruiting for tenacious and methodically minded Qualified Social Workers to join their ever growing Children in Need Team.

 

The successful candidate will be charged with maintaining a manageable caseload and be required to complete assessments for the Children in Need Team, including those in need of protection, children looked after, those subject to public care proceedings and, where directed by the Court, children subject to private law proceedings.

 

You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive administrative team with an experienced forward thinking management team all looking to achieve a common goal to improve social situations of the service users within the borough.

 

This role offers a £1,500 market factor supplement per annum!

About you

We therefore seek applications from committed professional and dynamic practitioners who have experience in the following:  

  • Have a Social Work Qualification i.e. CQSW, DipSW or equivalent.
  • Be registered with Social Work England (SWE).
  • Able to pass a clear enhanced DBS check.
  • Working knowledge of all statutory duties and responsibilities relating to children and families, including:
    • Legislation
    • Regulations and Standards
    • Government Objectives and Initiatives
    • National and Common Assessment Framework

The post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure.

Social Work in Harrow is about practicing statutory children’s social work, promoting quality, consistency, and effectiveness of social work practice to ensure that children’s outcomes are positive. In terms of learning and development opportunities it is vital to have a comprehensive understanding of Children’s Services core standards to facilitate best practice in line with UK legislation, statutory and government and local guidance, incorporate the voice of the child in all we do and having an Anti-Racism and Inclusion perspectives.

We offer our social workers:

  • Competitive salary inclusive of Market Factor

  • The council offers a retention bonus of Â£3,000, which is paid after 3 years continuous service and a further Â£3,000 after a further 3 years of continuous service. This bonus is subject to conditions.
