About the role

This is an exciting opening for an enthusiastic and committed Teacher to extend and develop their expertise in an advisory capacity.  We are looking for an individual with in-depth knowledge of the needs of pupils with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN); with the understanding and creativity to enable them to enjoy and achieve; alongside the ability to share good practice effectively with others.  

 

The successful candidate will need to be a committed and highly motivated teacher who is flexible in their ways of working in order to meet the wide range of needs and age range of children and young people supported by the team. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills.  You will be flexible, self-motivated and committed to supporting and working collaboratively with other professionals.  You will use your experience and knowledge of teaching, evidence-based practice, legislation and the graduated approach, to advise schools how to best meet the needs of young people with SLCN. This will include a combination of training, consultative work and direct work with young people.

About you

Qualified Teacher status is essential. Extensive experience of working with children and young people with speech, language and communication needs in an educational setting is also essential. Naturally, you will be provided with additional, relevant training and support to make the most of this opportunity to make a difference to the lives of young people with SLCN and their families.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
