This is an exciting opportunity to become an Assistant Team Manager within the Adolescent team. In this role you will be supervising and supporting Social Worker’s working with young people between 10 and 18 years old who are at risk of experiencing extra familial harm or homelessness.
The team is a dynamic and fast-paced and creative team that works with families and young people from the point of referral where there are extra-familial and contextual risks. The team works with young people at risk of homelessness in order to build & sustain positive relationships within families in order to maintain stability for young people.
The Adolescent Team is looking for a creative, dynamic and ambitious Assistant Team Manager to join the team and lead Social Workers in providing an outstanding service to the young people of the borough.
• To undertake regular supervision and appraisal of social workers to ensure an effective service delivery to children, young people and families and to identify further staff development opportunities.
• To ensure that Social Workers complete timely statutory visits and to ensure that accurate records are maintained and up to date and recorded with statutory documentation completed.
• To support the Team Manager in ensuring the highest professional standards of practice are evidenced through rigorous quality assurance processes in line with statutory guidelines.
• To chair multiagency strategy discussions and to consider safety plans and positive outcomes for young people in need or at risk through the delivery of timely, high quality social work services.
• Demonstrable ability to analyse risk and to plan appropriate interventions.
• The ability to support social work staff in the preparation of reports for Child Protection Conferences, LAC Reviews, court and other purposes, including an in-depth knowledge of the operation of legal proceedings and the ability to develop and implement care plans for looked after children.
• Ability to co-ordinate and manage the work of the team, balancing needs and resources, including the ability to manage service delivery within budget constraints.
• Ability to implement & maintain effective standardised systems to monitor performance against departmental standards and external indicators.
• Social Work Qualification (or about to qualify)
• Registration with Social Work England.
• Enhanced DBS check.
