About the role:
The post holder will be part of the inter-disciplinary Youth Justice Service that provides community and through care services to children and young people who are involved in the criminal justice process. These posts will provide a ‘bank’ of workers who are able to provide support to the permanent staff team of the YJS by providing a level of flexibility to the Service. These roles may be of interest to candidates who are interested in working with children and young people outside of full time employment and may suit retired / semi-retired people or students.

Qualifications and Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you should meet the following requirements:
Previous or current knowledge of youth crime issues and/or national standards in the Youth Justice Service is desirable.
Evidence of higher education within a criminal justice discipline, Social Work or Youth Work setting would be desirable.
Ideally, you will have some practical criminal justice experience of working with children and young people, either in a social work, education or youth work setting. Alternatively, evidence of higher education within a criminal justice discipline, Social Work or Youth Work setting would be desirable.
Access to transport for work purposes is essential, as is the ability to liaise and work co-operatively with other agencies/professionals. A proportion of the work will be required during the weekends and evenings, as well as during the core working week.
