About the role

We are looking for an ambitious team manager to join Ealing Council.  We are looking to recruit a team manager for the Hanwell MAST (Multi Agency Support Team).

MAST is a frontline service delivering assessment and care planning services to children and their families including Children in Need and Child Protection planning. The teams are made up of a variety of disciplines including family practitioners, clinical psychologists, and social workers. As a team manager you will have overall responsibility for a team of 11 social workers, one family practitioner and two deputy team managers.

Ealing is committed to new ways of working and supporting staff to embed our Practice Model. The Brighter Futures Practice Model is values driven and has at its heart a commitment to improving the lives and outcomes for children and young people in need through building empathic, respectful, and trusting relationships with children, young people, their families, or carers (and with each other as colleagues) to achieve improved and sustainable outcomes that support long term change.

There is a strong emphasis on monthly case and personal supervision whereby reflection is a prominent feature in line with the Brighter futures model.

The Ealing borough is a diverse multicultural borough and thus there is a strong ethos within the team to imbed cultural awareness and diversity within our daily work and interactions with children and their families. The candidate must be passionate about delivering a family centred service which is child focused, whilst carrying out supportive and safeguarding statutory duties in line with current legation and PAN London guidance.

About you

The candidate will report directly to the head of service. You can expect to receive support from your head of service to help you to grow and develop in the role and determine your management style. Ealing Council has an excellent training program and offers coaching support for managers new to the council.

If you believe you have the required experience, skills, and abilities to exceed in either of these roles, we would like to hear from you.

Please feel free to contact Sharon Scott: Children in Need head of service - 020 8825 9780 for an informal conversation should you require more information.

Ealing council is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment.
