What does an Advanced Social Work Practitioner do at Hillingdon?

We're thrilled to invite you to join the Corporate Parenting Service team during this exciting period of growth and development. As we work towards expanding our offerings for children and care-experienced young people, our Advanced Practitioners will play a key role in shaping our vision and delivering on our commitment to achieve aspirational outcomes for those in our care.

As an Advanced Practitioner within Corporate Parenting, you'll be a valued member of our management team, responsible for providing leadership and support to personal advisors, as well as managing all aspects of their day-to-day work. This includes providing personal and professional supervision, approving Pathway Plans and SRFs for finances, and managing any other qualified staff within the service area, including student social workers and support workers.

In addition to these responsibilities, Advanced Practitioners will also have the opportunity to deputise for the team manager as required, providing further opportunities for career growth and development. About you

As a successful candidate, you will have a proven track record in practice leadership, gained either as a qualified and experienced PSW, Advanced Practitioner, or in a higher role. You will be known for your innovative and creative thinking, with a passion for exploring new models of working to achieve better outcomes for service users. Your high level of motivation and ability to build strong relationships will be critical to your success in delivering the best possible outcomes for vulnerable people.

You share our deep commitment to achieving positive outcomes for both children and adults through inclusive and innovative practice and have a proven track record of working collaboratively with colleagues across the council and beyond. You are excited to continuously learn and develop new skills and are eager to apply your analytical abilities to new areas of work.
