About the role
We now have an exciting opportunity for an Inclusion Support Officer. The role involves giving advice and guidance to schools and parents on exclusion issues and working directly with pupils at risk of exclusion, by offering both mentoring and other practical support. The officers offer support on policy and practice to Brent schools, provide continuity of advice and support to parents, and help to draw up pastoral support plans for pupils at risk of exclusion. They also represent the Council at Governor’s disciplinary hearings and review panels. This is an exciting role and requires committed education/social care professionals who can command the confidence of teachers and senior leaders within Brent schools.
About you

Our ideal candidate will be a resilient professional who has experience of working directly with young people at risk and providing advice and guidance to other professionals. They will have a strong background in education and/or social care, a sound understanding of safeguarding issues, and an ability to build successful relationships with parents and carers from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. A good understanding of education and inclusion issues and good practice related to inclusive education is vital.
