About the role

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Deputy Unit Manager to work alongside the Registered Manager as an operational leader, responsible for day to day management within the home. This role centres on providing accommodation and support for children and young people with complex needs, including emotional and behavioural difficulties as well as learning disabilities.

As Deputy Unit Manager, you will:

  • Ensure the home provides a safe, nurturing environment that promotes the well-being and development of young people.
  • Support the Registered Manager in leading and managing a dedicated team to deliver high-quality care.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Maintain and enhance high standards of care and safeguarding.
About you

We are seeking an experienced, qualified professional with a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with complex needs. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven, substantial experience in children’s residential care.
  • Level 3 qualification in Children & Young people’s Workforce/Residential Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Children’s Home Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • A proactive, compassionate, and empathetic approach.
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude with the ability to lead change, motivate colleagues, and drive continuous improvement.
