Early Help Quality Assurance Officer (with Team Manager Responsibility)

Role Overview

The Early Help Quality Assurance Officer plays a crucial role in developing, coordinating, and reporting on quality assurance activities across the Early Help and Children and Families Service. This position ensures effective and evaluative scrutiny of practices, supporting continuous improvement and development within the service. Additionally, this role includes managing a team of social workers in primary schools through a Service-Learning Agreement, ensuring impactful service delivery. The day-to-day oversight and management will be provided by the Quality Assurance Manager. This is a non-case holding role with flexible working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance Focus:

• Undertake audits and design bespoke audit tools as necessary.

• Collate and analyse audit data, preparing reports that outline findings and recommendations for EH Coordinators and other service levels.

• Support the delivery of the Quality Assurance Framework through an agreed audit activity program. • Contribute to training program development and delivery based on audit outcomes.

• Embed quality assurance processes, including audit activities, practice days, and practice weeks across the Early Help Service.

• Track progress against audit actions.

• Collaborate with the Learning and Development Team to ensure audit findings inform staff training.

• Monitor the impact of learning and development programs.

• Assist in updating, reviewing, and producing policies and procedures, supporting their implementation.

• Undertake ad-hoc quality assurance tasks, including Management Case Reviews and Service Evaluations. Team Manager Focus

• Manage and direct the daily operations of the team of social workers in primary schools responsible for delivering early help interventions.

• Propose and implement service improvements to enhance outcomes for children, young people, and families.

• Build effective relationships with schools and partners. Skills and Qualifications • Strong writing skills for policy and procedure development.

• Excellent analytical, data analysis, and presentation skills.

• Ability to present information concisely and effectively.

• Capability to mentor and guide staff in practice development.

• Well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

• Strong partnership building and interpersonal communication skills.

• Excellent project and time management skills, with the ability to deliver highquality work in a fast-paced environment.

About you

Knowledge and Experience:

• Social Work Qualification.

• At least 3 years of post-qualification experience, including auditing and quality assurance activities.

• Strong knowledge of the legislative framework and standards related to children's services.

• Up-to-date knowledge of best practices and research findings in working with vulnerable children and families.

• Familiarity with quality assurance frameworks and reporting cycles.

• Understanding of how to drive and embed change at all levels within an organization.

• Proven ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels to deliver program outcomes.

• Structured and organized approach with appropriate rigor.

• Ability to bring clarity and pace to delivery in a complex environment.
