Merton's Workforce, Practice Development and Insights team are looking for a Consultant Social Worker who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people in the borough by supporting practice development.

About you

About you

An experienced, qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England

- Experience of quality assurance, audits, multi-agency audits, practice development. 

- You will bring enthusiasm in the service with your exceptional knowledges, skills and social work practice in working collaboratively with the team and raising practice standards. 

- You will be proactive, hands-on, raise practice standards in social work and act as a champion for professional development to ensure outcomes for children and young people are evidenced and strengthened. 

- The post holder will work collaboratively through the lens of equality, equity, diversity and inclusion. 

About the role

The focus of the team is to understand Merton's Practice, what's working well, areas to strengthen and develop whilst working closely with colleagues across the department to drive practice that improves outcomes for children and young people.

Scope of the role includes: 

  • The arrangements, cycle, quality assurance and learning summaries for collaborative reviews
  • Audits relating to thematic issues or key lines of enquiry following changes to performance data or in response to specific events/incidents
  • Support TM/PSW with dissemination of the learning from Complaints, ICO, FOI and SARs responses 
  • Practice Week as requested by Principal Social Worker / Service Manager / Team Manager
  • Support with the compilation of findings and observations from Practice Weeks and dissemination of the learning from these
  • Support with learning and dissemination of polices, procedures and guidance from the Quality Assurance Framework
  • Audit tracker and continued maintenance in an ‘Ofsted ready’ state
  • Participation and facilitation of multi-agency audits and appreciative inquiries
