About the role

Are you a Social Worker with over 2 years post qualification experience who is passionate about children and young people? If so, Enfield Council is the place for you.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced qualified Social Worker to work within the Targeted Domestic Violence who can develop clear and focused plans in conjunction with the family and the professional network and ensure the timely delivery of effective services.

As a qualified Social Worker, you will have knowledge of current legislation, have demonstrated your experience and abilities in respect of working in partnership with children, young people, families, and partner agencies. You will have over 2 years’ experience of working with vulnerable children and their families, in a statutory setting supporting families within the Child Protection and Child in Need framework and a proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form, as well as the ability to work individually and as part of a team. Your drive, enthusiasm and high aspirations will contribute to our journey to deliver exceptional outcomes for the children and young people of Enfield.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Targeted Domestic Abuse Team supporting and protecting children, young people and families within Children and Family Services who are affected by Domestic Abuse. The work focuses on developing safety for the children, empowering the victim, and encouraging/motivating the perpetrator to address their behaviours. The aim of the team is to assess, intervene and reduce the risk of domestic abuse.

About you

 

  • Hold a degree in Social Work (minimum Upper Second, if classified) or equivalent. Must be Social Work England registered.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of; Children Act 1989, 2004 and other legislation regarding Leaving Care Act 2000, Housing and Education Acts, Domestic Abuse Act 2021, child development, relevant social policy and key legislation, with strategic reference to safeguarding 
  • Demonstrate knowledge of services involved in the multi-agency response to domestic abuse such as the MARAC, perpetrator panels, perpetrator change programmes and victim support services.
  • Have excellent communication skills in direct work with children, and proven ability to work in partnership with parents/carers to ensure children’s needs are being met safely.
  • Proven ability to carry out comprehensive assessments managing risk and identifying the needs of children and families, within agreed timescales and implement and review written care plans.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills in written and oral work, using high level knowledge and understanding of complex casework, risk management and care planning when supporting families impacted by Domestic Abuse. 
  • Familiarity with diversity/equality principles and experience of working in a culturally/ethnically diverse setting.
  • Have excellent spoken and written English and be able to use electronic case recording systems to produce fit-for-purpose reports within strict deadlines that will be used within and outside of the organisation.
