Social Workers in Children in Care (CiC) need to be responsible for the delivery of a high quality support service to children and their families who are engaged within the Children in Care service and under the Council's statutory obligations as a Corporate Parent.
Social Workers in Children in Care utilise our Circles of Support practice model - working restoratively with children and young people, using systemic tools and ideas and drive the development of a team culture where good practice can flourish to the benefit of children and their families.
Working as a Children in Care Social Worker at Newham provides a unique development opportunity as the service handles the majority of court work relating care proceedings. You will be fully supported in this by senior colleagues, an Assistant Team Manager in addition to a Team Manager (in each team), Practice Development Social Workers, a comprehensive CP Chair service and our Clinical Team consisting of experienced qualified Family Therapists.
You are a qualified social worker who has completed their ASYE, and are registered with Social Work England.
We welcome applications from social workers of varying experience levels; though we do expect applicants to have completed their ASYE and have gained some experience within in the team/service that they are applying for.
