Some if this change includes exciting developments such as our Pre-Birth Assessment Team, Exploitation team and an Interventions HUB which will offer evidence based interventions and support to our vulnerable children and families who are receiving assessments, are on a plan or in care. We see our Assessment service as crucial to our endeavours to get it right for our children from the very start so are looking for strong team managers to help us realise achieve this. We are looking for a permanent team manager to join an existing team of experienced staff. Our assessment service has a stable and dedicated workforce, our reliance on temporary cover is low and caseloads are mostly manageable. We are proud of our CARES approach, which follows relationship-based practice principles. Additional Information Our Team Managers are central to driving excellent social work practice and making a positive difference to children, young people and their families in our community. You will be responsible for delivering services to children and young people through the operational management and supervision of social work teams. You will focus on working with MASH colleagues and managing case allocations, having casework oversight including auditing of cases. You will offer reflective supervision and support the progress and professional development of each member of your team. You will be able to demonstrate what excellent social work practice is, together with sound safeguarding knowledge.

About you

Special requirements for this post

 

We welcome applications from qualified and experienced candidates. You will need to have a Social Work degree and completed your ASYE. You will need to hold a current SW England registration. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and a comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on successful applicants including an Enhanced Children’s Department of Barring Services check.

You will also have excellent analytical and writing skills and the ability to incorporate the Strengthening Families Model in your management role which builds on families’ strengths with a focus on protective factors
