Some of this change includes developments such as our Pre-Birth Assessment Team, Exploitation team and an Intervention HUB which will offer evidence-based interventions and support to our vulnerable children and families who are receiving assessments, are on a plan or in Care. To help us achieve our ambitious programme, we are looking for a dedicated and passionate Team Manager to join our Fostering Team (Permanence), within the Children’s Care and Support Service. Our Team Managers are central to driving excellent social work practice and making a positive difference to children, young people and their families in our community. You will be responsible for delivering services to children and young people through the operational management and supervision of social work teams. You will focus on managing case allocations, having casework oversight, including auditing of cases, and driving progress towards permanence for each child. You will offer reflective supervision and support the professional development of each member of your team. You will be able to demonstrate what excellent social work practice is, together with sound safeguarding knowledge.
You will need to have completed a Social Work degree and hold a current SWE registration for this position. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and a comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on successful applicants including an Enhanced Children’s Department of Barring Services check
You will be an inspiring, motivated and caring Team Manager who is able to think outside the box and develop creative solutions. With your skills, experience and knowledge you will oversee all casework undertaken by your team. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills alongside analytical ability and confident decision making, whilst demonstrating the ability to incorporate the Strengthening Families Model in your management role which builds on families’ strengths with a focus on protective factors.
