About the role

We are currently recruiting for Senior Personal Advisors to join the Young Adults Service.  The Young Adults Service supports Care Experienced Young People aged 16 up to 25 and we are passionate about ensuring that our young people are supported to achieve to the very best of their abilities.
The Senior Personal Advisor will support a caseload of Care Leavers who have the most multiple and complex needs within the 18+ Care Leaver service adopting a multi-agency approach, working in partnership with care leavers, families and other statutory and third sector organisations, providing assistance, advice and support to care leavers, encouraging care leavers to actively participate in their Pathway Planning to transition successfully into adulthood and independence.
Further the Senior Personal Advisor will support the development of Personal Advisors within the Young Adults Service, the development of best practice, and partnerships between Young Adults Services and other statutory and third-party organisations.

About you

You will be passionate about working with care experienced young people and will have experiences of having worked with and supported young people aged 16 to 25 from different racial and cultural backgrounds to achieve their best outcomes.
You will have knowledge of the difficulties and range of issues faced by young people who are care experienced as they transition into adulthood.   You will have experience of building positive working relationships with young people and ability to empower and support using a person-centred approach.  You will have experience of supporting young people in distress and with a complexity of needs, and will be able to support in a professional manner.  You will be able to demonstrate maturity and resilience to cope with working in stressful and demanding situations.
You will have good written and verbal communication skills and will be able to engage with young people, colleagues and professionals from external agencies. You will be able to work both as part of a team and independently.  You will have experience of completing and reviewing support plans.
