Contribute to the delivery of an effective Children’s Social Work Service as part of a departmental team improving outcomes for children and young people. To be responsible for social work provision to allocated and newly referred cases in accordance with national statutory guidance and local departmental policy.
As a Social Worker in the Westminster Children’s Services, you’ll be part of delivering an outstanding service dedicated to the safety of children and young people across Westminster. Joining a high-performing team, you’ll create effective safeguarding plans, empower families, and improve outcomes for thousands of vulnerable children in the area. Though our work is challenging and the needs of the children we help are complex, the outcomes can be life-changing, not to mention professionally rewarding.

Empower families and strengthen their resilience to safely care for their children and achieve positive outcomes wherever possible.
To effectively engage children and their families in the formulation and implementation of their plans.
To identify and deliver protective or supportive services for children at risk, in need and/or looked after.
To achieve security and stability for those children who are unable to live safely with their families.
To represent the local authority as the corporate parent for children who are looked after or leaving care.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, in partnership across agencies in accordance with statutory duties for the benefit of children and their families.
