About the role

Haringey Council is seeking a Team Manager to manage a Child in Care Team, long-term permanence team.  The council has been on a significant journey of improvement, with ambition to enable every child and young person to have the best start in life. The Team Manager will work closely with the Service Manager. We need someone who is creative, innovative and motivated to safeguarding vulnerable children with experience of Corporate Parenting and permanency. It is an excellent opportunity to build upon good practice and you will effectively performance manage and lead the service.

They have a solid grasp of child development and relevant legislation, particularly concerning care leavers and vulnerable young people, reflecting a commitment to ensuring the welfare and rights of these individuals.
Furthermore, the individual is adept at influencing and coaching others, fostering a culture of professional and multi-agency learning and development. They emphasize the importance of keeping accurate records, chairing multi-agency meetings, and contributing to service strategies and policies. Their proficiency in IT tools and their ability to manage time and workload, along with their commitment to equal opportunities, clear communication, and collaboration with external partners, make them a well-rounded and effective leader in the field of child protection and social work. Finally, their dedication to compliance with statutory requirements, including health and safety and data protection, further underscores their suitability for this role.
