You will be based in the bubbling heart of Enfield Town in a modern newly designed client facing service hub. The new office has bespoke areas for service users and is an environment which supports our smart working policy, surrounded by small businesses, bars, restaurants, a buzzing high street and shopping centre. We have good transport links into Central London and are easily accessible to the M25, A10 and A406.

As a Team Manager your primary role will be to lead and support the team to develop meaningful and purposeful social work practice that places emphasis on the voice of the child and aspires to achieve the best outcomes for our children. The Looked After Team manage all of Enfield’s care proceedings and work to secure permanence for children as well as considering reunification where safe to do so. Therefore, court and permanency planning experience is essential.
You will work alongside other services such as health and education to ensure that the needs of our children are met, and their voice heard.
Our team managers are supported in this challenging role with regular reflective supervision and are part of an active management team who provide peer support and constantly work towards improving practice.
You should hold a qualification in social work, have a clear work history and be registered with the Social Work England.

As a middle manager within the Council you will:
Lead, manage and motivate the team to deliver high performance
Ensure that corporate/departmental people practices are understood and implemented within your service

Essential:
1. qualified Social worker with a clear understanding of court processes and procedures,
2. Ability to engage, coach and motivate teams and set clear targets and expectations
3. Evidence of high levels of customer service and satisfaction
4. Ability to manage performance and providing clear constructive feedback
5. Experience of successfully implementing plans and projects to time and budget
6. Ability to effectively plan and manage budgets and resources
7. Demonstrates a good understanding of the political structure and role of elected members
8. Ability to work collaboratively both with own service and across other services
9 As a regular and intrinsic part of this role required you to speak to members of the public in English, the ability to converse at ease, politely and courteously with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken and written English is essential and consistent with the requirements of this role.
10. Ability to give regular individual and children’s supervision
11. Experience of auditing case work and to address ares for development
12. Experience of care proceedings and permanency planning.

Experience of providing training to the team when required to do so
