We are offering a £3000 annual market supplement for this role!

As Social Worker in the Adolescent Safeguarding team you will be working with young people from 13-18 years of age who are at risk of extra familial harm and exploitation. 

As a Social Worker you will be responsible for ensuring that adolescents are safeguarded from harm whilst parents and carers of adolescents are supported in their parenting capacity to protect and nurture them. Whilst also ensuring that the public is protected where youth offending is concerned. As a Social Worker you will:

  • Have a manageable caseload of working with adolescents are subject to CIN, CP and CS&E plans, the current caseload on average is between 10-15 children

  • Primarily be allocated cases in the Royal Borough of Kingston

  • Be working with children who are at risk of child exploitation

  • Ensure high levels of quality interventions using AfC’s social work practice model, Signs of Safety, agreed quality standards and operating procedures

About you

To be a Social Worker in the Adolescent Safeguarding team you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following points:

  • Educated to degree level with a social work qualification and HCPC registration

  • Experience of managing complex cases, making sure robust risk management takes place to manage assessed vulnerabilities and risk to protect adolescents and where appropriate members of the general public

  • Experience of tailoring support packages to the needs of young people and their families in line with the Youth Resilience intervention framework to achieve best outcomes

  • Experience of effective recording, monitoring, evaluation and quality assurance of interventions within case work practice using a wide range of tools and Management Information Systems
