About the role
  • Lead and manage a team of social workers and personal advisers, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support care leavers in achieving positive outcomes in housing, education, employment, and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with other services, agencies, and stakeholders to create opportunities for care leavers.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities and organisational policies.
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, driving continuous improvement.
  • Quality assurance and reviewing of effective pathway planning transitioning to support young people into adulthood.
About you

The ideal candidate will need to be a resilient, authoritative and an experienced Team Manager who places children and young people and their welfare at the heart of practice.
You will demonstrate:

  • An understanding of the financial pressures facing local authorities and have experience in managing budgets – you will be able to ensure the most effective use of allocated budgets, adhere to Best Value principles, control cost and enhance value.
  • Strong understanding of the complexities and challenges faced by care leavers and experience in delivering a service that can meet those needs.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with a commitment to driving positive change.
  • Ability to build relationships with young people, colleagues, and external partners and stakeholders – your written and verbal communication will be second to none and you will be used to providing high quality, evidence-based assessments, analysis and the application of signs of safety.
