Safeguarding and Assessment Service
The Safeguarding and Support Team at Haringey Council is comprised of five teams, each led by a Team Manager who oversees up to six social workers.
The role within the Assessment Service emphasises safeguarding, diligent assessment, and intervention to address the unique needs of vulnerable children and families. By integrating strong assessment skills, case management expertise, and a commitment to professional development, you will contribute significantly to improving outcomes for those in need.
In this role, you will be expected to:
Candidates for this role must possess a relevant social work qualification and be registered with the Social Work England (SWE). Additionally, a minimum of 12 months of post-qualification experience is required, preferably within a similar setting, ensuring familiarity with the demands and challenges of the role. The ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team is essential, along with a proactive and solution-focused approach to addressing complex social work issues.
Given the nature of the work, candidates should be capable of working under pressure and managing a caseload efficiently, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in dynamic situations. Excellent communication skills are paramount, encompassing both verbal and written forms, to facilitate effective interaction with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders. Overall, the role demands a combination of professional qualifications, practical experience, teamwork abilities, and strong communication skills to navigate the complexities of social work and deliver high-quality services to vulnerable individuals and families.
