About the role

The role

We are looking to appoint, on a 6-month basis, an enthusiastic and influential Team Manager for our Family Friends and Fostering Service who will ensure the provision of a high quality, comprehensive and effective service whilst providing professional leadership to the team and facilitate collaboration within a multi-agency context. The successful candidate will act as the specialist advisor on Fostering and Permanence for Looked After Children and contribute to the development of relevant policy and services.

This will give you an opportunity to to work with the proven ‘Camden Model of Social Work’, which Ofsted described as ‘a learning culture, well supported by the use of a systemic model of practice’. You will develop under what Ofsted rated ‘outstanding leadership and management’ where ‘the leadership team have formed a dynamic, professionally fertile environment for Social Workers at all levels of experience to engage with children and families”.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

About you

About you

We’re looking for someone who holds a relevant Social Work Qualification and is SWE registered. You will hold relevant and comprehensive knowledge of the legislative framework relating to children, particularly the Children Act 1989, Fostering Service Regulations 2011, National Minimum Standards. 

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of management and leadership within children’s services, whilst taking the responsibility of ensuring the team is appropriately resourced, managed and supported. You will demonstrate the ability to lead teams to desired business targets, motivate staff and drive performance levels as well as Supervisory experience in social work.

Possess analytical and budget competences as well as IT skills in recording and maintaining data and record information system, experience with strategic and project management would be beneficial.  Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills with a diverse range of professionals.
