The London Borough of Tower Hamlets is inviting experienced social workers and managers to attend a special Children's Social Work Online Recruitment Event on Monday, 23rd September 2024, at 5:30 PM.

The event will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams, offering a valuable opportunity for professionals to explore career opportunities within one of London’s most vibrant boroughs. Tower Hamlets borough is an excellent place to practise social work and has a strong track record supporting and developing its staff. 

Event Highlights

  • Attendees will have the chance to hear from Susannah Beasley-Murray, Director of Supporting Families, who will share the Council’s vision for children and families in Tower Hamlets.

  • The event will include a discussion on the Better Together Practice Framework, which is rooted in restorative practice and strength-based methods. This framework is guided by the borough’s 6 Cs-Change approach—Connect, Curious, Community, Co-Produce, Collaborate, Check—shaping the work done with children, young people, their parents, carers, and within the team.

  • Attendees will learn about the range of opportunities available to social workers in Tower Hamlets, which boasts one of the highest social work salaries in the UK. The borough offers robust support through its Steps to Success programme, along with extensive professional development opportunities via its Learning and Development offer, including post-qualifying modules in partnership with local universities.   • The event will also feature inspiring stories from current practitioners, who will share their experiences and journeys as social workers in Tower Hamlets.

Additional Information

The event is open to qualified, experienced social workers and managers. While the event is not intended for newly qualified social workers, as the ASYE Programme is closed until May 2025, NQSWs are still welcome to join and learn more about the borough.
